Third-Party Affiliate Networks

Commission Junction – This is largest and one of the eldest affiliate networks and it is the preferred by both affiliates and merchants. CJ's "Bfast Partner Gateway" has an extremely advanced and customisable members area, including very sophisticated performance statistics, internal email network, dead link notification and much more.
Pricing: U$2,250 one-time set up fee, U$250 annual mantainance fee, U$3,000 Non-refundable deposit used to pay publishers (affiliates), for each transaction 30% of the payout rate or USD $0.30 - whichever is greater. Transaction fees minimum monthly charge is U$500. - Recommended for medium and large companies -

ClickBank – They handle credit card and check transactions, all customer billing and set up the affiliate program. Merchants get visibility to ClickBank’s network of over 100,000 affiliates and their sites are added to their marketplace (mall). They have two different rates:

- For the sale of digital products (items that will be downloaded by the buyer right after the payment has taken place): a one-time U$49.95 activation fee, and a U$1 + 7.5% fee per sale. No monthly fees, no minimum charge.

- For the sale of tangible goods (items that need to be shipped): U$99.95 activation fee, U$49.95 per month, plus U$0.25 + 0.00% per sale, on your first $1000 in sales each month or U$0.25 + 2.25% per sale, on sales in excess of $1000 each month.

Generally seen, stats reporting is somewhat poor, but ClickBank is the ideal for small merchants who want to make a first try with affiliate programs. CPA and CPS programs supported. - Recommended for small companies and beginners -

Share a Sale – Probably the fastest-growing affiliate network. Their success is based on a mix of low rates and high professional standard, but probably what is making their fortune is the terrific support they provide to both merchants and affiliates. They have a one-time set up charge of U$ 150, plus 20% of transaction fees (the amount due to affiliates). Their software supports CPC, CPA and CPS.

Yahoo! Merchant Solutions – Three different solutions to choose from: U$ $39.95/month + 1.5% transaction fee, U$ $99.95/month + 1%, U$ $299.95/month + 0.75% - depending on your needs. You may start slow for a test - and upgrade later. Only CPS supported.

Affiliate Traction – This fast-growing network gives you the option to run your own affiliate program and even your own network! The secret of Affiliate Traction‘s success is the extreme simplicity of their system: all you’ll have to do is to cut and paste a few lines of HTML code on your site and your affiliate program is set to go! It can't get simpler: no software to install, no website to re-write, nothing complicated to learn! Rates and terms: $995 one-time set up fee and $50 monthly fee. If you want to start your own affiliate network: $4,950 one-time fee and $500 per month.

advertising.com – They require both merchants and affiliates to have a minimum of 50,000 monthly visitors. They support CPC and CPM programs. Rates and terms: N/A.

DirectLeads –They support CPC and CPA programs charging a one time setup fees of U$750.00 and monthly usage fees of 1/2 cent p/ click and U$10.00 p/ GB of data transferred over 5 GB.

FastClick - They support banners and pop-up ads CPC and CPM. No text links. Rates and terms N/A.

Tracking Software

AssocTrac - The most complete web-based tracking software at an affordable price: U$ 677 (or 5 payments of U$135.40) plus a monthly fee of U$ 47 for maintenance and monitoring. No transaction fees. Easy to customise without specific knowledge, it supports real-time double tracking (cookies AND CGI-scripts), off-line sales, two-tier, instant affiliate account creation, unlimited product tracking, and much more.

Ultimate Affiliate – Very flexible and easy to set up. Supports CPS, CPA and even MLM 12 levels deep. Unix only. The price is also very good: U$ 200 + U$ 100 for the installation (optional).

Synergyx – This is the latest release of the well-known “Your Own Associate Program”. It is an extremely easy to use web-based tracking software, the ideal for you if you want it simple but still with all the features and if you care for excellent support. US$ 1,500 including installation (Unix/Linux web server only).

AffiliateShop – Two different releases available: “Shared” for small and growing merchants (U$35 monthly fee) and “Dedicated” with many more features, for U$995 + U$49.95 monthly fee. CPC, CPA and CPS programs supported. Integrates with most third-party shopping cart systems.
