If you own an associate program -
or are affiliated yourself - you may submit it to this directory if it fulfills
the below listed criteria.
1. AFFILIATE RIGHTS AND
PROTECTIONS
a) The
merchant MUST NOT:
- require affiliates
to post logos, graphics, or hyperlinks to their website that are not a
direct part of the commissionable relationship.
- require a
"membership fee" or "enrolment fee" to join.
- require a
time-framed minimum sales amount.
- require minimum traffic
amounts.
b) The
merchant MUST:
- publish an affiliate
agreement.
- publish on the website
email and postal addresses, and a telephone number for contact regarding
the affiliate program and any tracking issue or problem that might arise.
2. NOTIFICATION
The merchant
must contact the affiliates via email regarding any substantive
changes to the terms of their affiliate agreement - including changes to
commission rate, payment frequency or other major contractual issues.
3. PROGRAM DISCLOSURES
The merchant must:
a) provide details on the program's definition of commissionable sale,
lead, click-thru or other terms used to define the rewarded actions under
their program, including return days, qualifying items, commission
rates, recurring commissions, handling of returns and other details.
b) provide details on the
payment schedules - including minimum amount (which may not exceed U$50)
and eventual processing fees. Payments must be made on a monthly basis,
when the minimum amount is reached, and rolled over the next month when
not.
c) provide details
on the handling of international affiliates (those affiliates not
based in the same country as the merchant) - including the currency
affiliates will be paid with, and eventual banned countries list. Affiliate
programs not accepting international affiliates will not be listed.
In addition we require the affiliate programs to be two-tiered. The
payment of referral commissions may not be bound to eventual personal
sales.
All the above must be
made public to the applier BEFORE the completion of the sign up
process - usually within the Affiliate Agreement.
